Paphiopedilum lowii has the largest geographic range of all the multiflorals, ranging from the Philippines in the north to Borneo and other islands of Indonesia in the south. It is also one of the easiest multiflorals to grow and flower. In addition, P. lowii is one of the species in the genus that is a true epiphyte, growing in colonies on trees. Its epiphytic nature enables the roots to dry after a rainfall. So you could actually mount this on a slab of barkand grow it hanging (but only do this if you live in a tropical jungle — it’s not likely to work if you’re growing in your house!)!
