Cym Amanda Hung is an outstanding new pink-flowering Cymbidium hybrid! This new cross will set a new standard in large pink Cymbidium flowers; a couple were so impressive we’re working on cloning them for more growers to enjoy. Those with an appreciation for the artisanal and hand-crafted (which seems to be most millenials today raised on those marketing buzzwords) will love growing individual, unique plants that are NOT clones as they were grown from seed (i.e., in other words, the plants are all siblings, not identical clones).
Our pink Cymbidiums have always proven immensely popular, and we’re pleased to add Cym Amanda Hung to our collection of pinks. These are standard-size Cymbidiums producing flowers four inches or more across (with a mild fragrance). Spots are HOT, and a number of these have bloomed out with a lovely pattern of dark red spots. Flower spikes are tall and erect and will need to be staked up on a good blooming, as the flowers are large and heavy — a great problem to have for a big Cymbidium!
Please note that these were grown under high-light conditions, so leaves may have a yellow appearance. The plants are NOT sick (they grow vigorously and bloom easily), but if leaves with a yellow tinge are a problem for your or your gift recipient, we respectfully as that you pass on this.
