Description
The flower color of this lovely, miniature-ish Cymbidium is actually a bit difficult to describe, but it is a wonderful peach/bronze/orange color, so we call it ‘Peachy Keen’. Flower colors in orchids derive from the pigments expressed in the flower tissue layers, in an effect similar to watercolor painting. Photos very rarely capture a bloom accurately, which is good for the floral business, as many people will collect live orchids, but almost none will collect photos. This particular variety is actually quite miniature and will easily reach Blooming Size in a 4-inch or 5-inch pot.
The difference between MINIATURE and STANDARD Cymbidiums is like the difference between miniature and Standard Poodles. They look the same except for size. So a BLOOMING SIZE miniature Cymbidium will be much smaller than a blooming size Standard Cymbidium (which can easily fill a 5-gallon bucket or larger). (Please note that Blooming Size plants will be shipped bare root with no pot or potting media so as to save you on shipping costs.) Plants are NOT in bloom when shipped.
The miniature size of this lovely orchid makes it perfect for orchid lovers who find themselves short of space – which is practically all of us orchid nuts!
