Description
UPDATE 3/2/22: We are close to selling out of this lovely variety. The “1gr” (1-growth) plants we’re offering are not young seedlings. They are actually older plants with a single large leafy growth, and a couple of older leafless backbulbs. They’re really Near Blooming Size (about 18 months from reaching Blooming Size). They are grown in 3.25-inch square pots, and leaf length is over 12 inches. Photo of a representative plant will be forthcoming, unless we sell out first!
Some things in life just scream out “cute” when you see them. Babies. Kittens. Puppies (especially Corgi puppies). And in the orchid world, definitely Cym. Penny’s Worth! The rounded petals of its dainty flowers, their small size, and their exquisite pink color create an altogether adorable orchid, a must-have for any orchid enthusiast.
The fantastic colors you see in orchid blooms come from the pigments produced in different cellular layers of their flowers, which blend together like the most perfect watercolor. In fact, watercolor artists do much the same thing in layering colors, which is why watercolor paintings of orchids most closely resemble the real thing. (But never surpass it…)
Cym. Penny’s Worth also produces pendulous hanging spikes, making it perfect for hanging, so if you’re running out of table space, just hang this one over your other plants! (True orchid lovers always find a way to add another lovely to their collections!) Penny’s Worth’s pendulous spikes produce a prolific number of flowers, making for a very impressive display.
