Description
The Chinese Emperors ruled for over two thousand years, with a total of 557 emperors (depending on how you count them). The imperial color of the Chinese emperors was yellow, and they were dressed in silk yellow robes, and even ate from yellow bowls. Of course, yellow is the color of gold, and over the centuries, much gold and valuable art was stored in the Imperial treasury. Cymbidiums come from China, and we’re calling this lovely yellow-flowered Cymbidium “Imperial Treasure”, a fitting name for a stunning orchid that would not look out of place in the Imperial Palace of the Forbidden City. (It will also look stunning right in your own home.) This hybrid, produced by Mukoyama in Japan, grows easily and blooms on small plants. Besides the beautiful yellow color and dark lip, the striking thing about this orchid is how floriferous it is on a small plant. A well-grown Cym. “Imperial Treasure” plant in a small pot can produce multiple flower spikes, each bearing numerous flowers. A 40- to 50-flower plant in a small pot is certainly possible! While this is not a true miniature Cymbidium, it’s fair to say that it tends towards smaller size, which makes it perfect for your throne room or windowsill! This can reach Blooming Size in a small 3.25” square pot! PLEASE NOTE: this orchid is NOT IN BLOOM when shipped.
